It is true that "every cloud has a silver lining." We were so lucky to find the village chief and the chairman of the community of Fuxing Township Qiaotou Community. Not only did they welcome us warmly, they also drove the machines from the warehouse, taught us how to operate them, and mobilized a lot of people to guide us.

The current village chief was the chairman of the community at that time. The village chief mentioned the carpenters in Fuxing Township Qiaotou Community and many people who made the Lukang Cypress Straw Hat. Combining the memories and craftsmanship of that time, the cultural characteristics of the community are reproduced.

I admire the volunteers of Fuxing Township Qiaotou Community. They value the daily items of the elderly residents and listen to their stories. The services are not only provided to the residents, but the community activities also help the local residents.

A community is a place with collective identity and memory, and is also a living museum of humanity. If Fuxing Township Qiaotou Community had not still preserved the Lukang Cypress Straw Hat machines and items, we would not be able to explore the legend of Lukang Cypress Straw Hat.

The most special thing is the CAI YAN-YU teachers also accompanied us that day.

The village chief said that they had the technology and the cypress straw, but they couldn't find a teacher to teach them. Coincidentally, teacher CAI, YAN-YU said she could come to Fuxing Township Qiaotou Community to teach weaving crafts and communicate with them.

As we search for the value that should not disappear - the Cypress Straw Hat, we hope to continue the memories of the old era and usher in the meaning of the new century; to have a new chapter to continue creating memories in our hometown.
