Research steps

Many residents of Fenyuan have seen leopard catrs, especially farmers, but may they have seen it wrong? Because leopard cats are so similar to cats that many people think leopard cats are cats. This can be seen in the follow-up questionnaire survey. Since we want to save leopard cats, what we can actually do is to start with daily life and understand where leopard cats are? And how to protect them? Teacher Luo, who has long-term cooperation with the school, is an ecological expert. He has been studying leopard cats for many years, and continued to set up cameras in Fenyuan to capture leopard cat’s movements. The teacher said that we could first ask Teacher Luo to teach us how to investigate leopard cats.

1.Check to see if there are leopard cats in Fenyuan?
Determine the paths that the leopard cat may take and set up cameras at locations where farmers have seen the leopard cat to confirm the existence of the leopard cat in Fenyuan.
2.Interviews with experts
In addition to searching the Internet for information about leopard cats, we also interviewed experts, local elders, farmers, and county councilors to gain a deeper understanding of the ecology and population changes of leopard cats, and to understand what caused the decline in the number of leopard cats. And we as individuals can take measures that are friendly to leopard cats and further let legislators and officials formulate laws and methods to protect leopard cats.
3.Questionnaire
We will make a questionnaire to survey tourists who come to Fenyuan and Bagua Mountain to understand whether people are familiar with leopard cats and know how to protect them?
4.Gather a crowd to protect leopard cats
Protecting leopard cats starts with you and me, but the effect that one or two people or a group can achieve is limited, so we will use the function of social media to let more people know the importance and methods of protecting leopard cats.
5.Promotion
In order to reach a larger audience, we will design a short play on protecting leopard cats and perform it in nearby schools and activity centers to coordinate with the signing activities. We will use light and interesting content to let everyone know how to protect leopard cats.
6.Promote the formulation of laws
In order to protect leopard cats, relevant legal cooperation is needed. For example, indiscriminate killing and trading are not allowed, farmers are not allowed to engage in fire farming, and there are speed limits for vehicles in areas where leopard cats are found. These all need to be regulated by legislation, so we will invite The county councilors came together to do their best to protect leopard cats.
